Description
Exposure to hazardous chemicals is common for workers in the oil and gas industry. When workers are exposed to such substances, OHSA requires employers to provide their employees with hazard information and training over how to protect themselves and others from harm. During this course, employees will learn about OSHA's Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) standard and the purpose and requirements of a HAZCOM program. This training will cover common sources and routes of chemical exposure, and their recommended protective measures. Finally, this course will discuss onsite information resources for chemical hazards, including labels, safety data sheets (SDS) and hazard assessments. This training is intended to assist the employer in meeting the training requirements under OSHA's HAZCOM standard. It is specifically designed for workers employed on oil and gas production, processing and other field sites.
