Chainsaw Safety Oil and Gas Industry
Preparing a site for an oil or gas rig begins with clearing the area of obstacles, including trees and other vegetation, usually by using a chainsaw. However, chainsaws can be extremely dangerous pieces of equipment. Chainsaws cause about 28,000 injuries each year and some are severely debilitating. Fortunately, there are a few simple precautions that can make using chainsaws a safer task.
Workers who successfully complete this course will be able to identify the recommended procedures to take before and during chainsaw operations and the appropriate personal protective equipment used in chainsaw operations.
