- Recognize the necessary preparations for working in the wilderness
- Identify hazards created by extreme heat and cold, and extreme weather
- Identify the types of bears found in Canada, as well as methods for preventing and defending yourself from bear attacks
- Identify other types of wildlife common in Canada, and methods for staying safe while working in areas where wild animals could be
Learning Objectives
Upon course completion, you'll have the skills to identify essential preparations for wilderness work and recognize hazards related to extreme temperatures and severe weather conditions.
Furthermore, you'll be proficient in identifying bear species in Canada, along with techniques for preventing and defending against bear attacks. Lastly, you'll be able to identify common wildlife in Canada and adopt safety measures when working in areas where wild animals may be present.
