RCRA Hazardous Waste
Do you work at a facility that handles, stores, treats or disposes of hazardous waste or hazardous materials? Are you a small or large-quantity generator? Finally, if your facility is subject to regulation by the EPA and you need training under 40 CFR 262.17; 264.16 & 265.17... then you need Hazardous Waste Management Training!
Improper handling of hazardous materials in the workplace can result in accidents, severe medical conditions, and even death! This course is designed to familiarize students with the proper identification, classification, handling, storage, and reporting of hazardous wastes and materials.
Hazardous Waste Generator
The RCRA/EPA Hazardous Waste Management Course was developed to keep employees, and management staff ahead of State and Federal laws governing compliance, with 40 CFR 262.17; 264.16 & 265.17. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires employees and supervisors of hazardous waste facilities, to have training that explains the detailed regulatory requirements for hazardous waste/materials handlers.
The RCRA/EPA Hazardous Waste Management (Initial Training) - commonly referred to as EPA's "Initial" training, is designed for employees with no previous experience or training. Students who complete this training, and pass a final examination, will be issued a certification under 40 CFR 262.17; 264.16 & 265.17, EPA's "Hazardous Waste Management Standard."
More than just a list of the regulations, this training explains and simplifies applicable EPA standards and, most importantly, how to apply them at your facility. Students should be aware that, while this course qualifies for certification, additional training (such as HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) under 29 CFR 1910.120(e),(q) and/or DOT Hazardous Materials Shipping under 49 CFR 172.704) may be required for full compliance. For more information or questions, please consult your EH&S Department, supervisor or call one of our knowledgeable Education Consultants at 1-800-711-2706Â EXT 1.
Once you have completed this training, recurrent (annual) Hazardous Waste Management Training is required to remain certified.
