This modified, 100% online version of the 40-Hour HAZWOPER can be completed at your convenience with a full 90-day access. The training includes professional audio, video, module quizzes and a Final Examination to test employees' knowledge of 35 comprehensive HAZWOPER modules. Training can be taken anywhere internet access and a computer are available! 

Who can take a 100% Online HAZWOPER Course?

Employees without risk of exposure to IDLH atmospheres and workers not participating in the clean-up, removal, or handling of hazardous waste/materials can take a fully online course that does not include Hands-On training. Some examples include:

• HAZWOPER training to meet Insurance/Risk Management requirements
• Non-IDLH classified employees under a sub-contract that include HAZWOPER training requirements or employers with company policies for HAZWOPER training and who are NOT at risk for exposure to IDLH atmospheres.
• Sales, Engineers, Administrative employees, and other "white collar" job descriptions not at risk for IDLH exposure.

Please Note: ANY risk of IDLH exposure, no matter how infrequent, requires HAZWOPER training that INCLUDES hands-on training by a qualified Instructor. Can an employer use OSHA's "3-Day Site Requirement" to meet Hands-On Training Requirements after training?

OSHA clearly states HAZWOPER Certification MUST include hands-on training during the initial HAZWOPER training and the 3-day onsite training required under 29 CFR 1910.120 does not meet or substitute for this requirement.

Receiving a "Certificate of Completion" does not mean you're "HAZWOPER Certified"

• Regulatory Requirements: Being HAZWOPER certified to clean up hazardous waste or the possibility of exposure to IDLH environments requires Instructor-led, hands-on training. "Online-only" courses cannot substitute for this critical component mandated by OSHA and EPA for certification.
• Employer responsibility: OSHA places the responsibility for providing proper, job-specific training (including hands-on if required) on the employer.
• Before enrolling, always confirm with EH&S Management that a "100% online” 40-Hour HAZWOPER course is acceptable for your role.

 Requirements for Completion:

• Course Completion: 35 self-paced, online training modules.
• Assessment: Pass a final online exam with 70% or better.
• Result: A digital certificate of completion is available online after successfully passing the course exam.
