IATA Dangerous Goods Transportation By Air
This training meets requirements for Initial and Recurrent training under IATA DGR Section 1.5 of the IATA (the International Air Transportation Association) Dangerous Goods Transportation by Air as well as ICAO training requirements.
Who Needs IATA Dangerous Goods Training?
As per IATA DGR Section 1.5, Companies (and their employees, including contract and new hires) who are involved in shipping dangerous goods by air, are required to undergo training and certification in proper procedures, packaging, labeling, and safe transport of dangerous goods. If you're shipping via FedEx, USPS, UPS or most air carriers, IATA Dangerous Goods Transportation By Air is required to ship with these carriers.

Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of the IATA Dangerous Goods training students will be able to:
- Identify the requirements of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) for air consignments
- Determine suitable packaging types for dangerous goods packed cargo consignments
- Become familiar with State and Carrier Variations
- Follow the principles of segregation
- Determine Quantity Limitations of dangerous goods offered for transport by air
- Compute the calculation of Quantity Values
- Select the correct dangerous goods documentation and marking requirements for air consignments
Important Note: Most dangerous goods(hazmat) shipments use multiple transportation modes. If this applies to your organization, DOT Hazmat Transportation certification (under 49 CFR 172.704) may also be required to be fully certified.
