Instructors use traditional and advanced techniques used in today’s hazardous material industry to expose students to the hazards and risks involved in response to emerging and active incidents. Students develop crucial skills and techniques to recognize and mitigate hazards encountered during hazardous material spills through this course. Control and containment methods to ensure worker safety is the primary objective of this class.
Tuition includes a student manual, participation in table-top planning and preparation, and a mock response and clean-up exercise (to facilitate understanding of the Technician role). Students must pass a certification exam at the end of the course and will be issued a printed ER3 Certification (suitable for framing) and wallet ID card.
Our Emergency Response Technician (Level 3) course is delivered over four (4) days alongside HAZWOPER students who learn control and containment along with actual remediation. As the Emergency Response Technician’s primary role is “control and containment,” this course provides the additional experience in what happens “after the spill is contained.”
Note: This course REQUIRES the employee to bring a copy of the company/agency’s Emergency Response Plan so the Instructor can review and discuss on-site safety and company-specific procedures (required by regulation). Please ensure a printed copy is available BEFORE registering for this class. Certification cannot be issued without meeting this crucial requirement.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will:
