DOT Reasonable Suspicion Training
The Department of Transportation requires any supervisor who sends or refers employees for drug and/or alcohol testing under a DOT-Certified Drug Testing Program, to receive training in the administration and implementation of these procedures. Additionally, their training must include the physical, behavioral, speech, and performance indicators of probable alcohol misuse and use of controlled substances.
As per DOT 49 CFR Parts 40, 199.241 (for pipeline operators) and DOT 49 CFR 382.603 (for motor carriers), this online course will help you meet the training requirements for Drug & Alcohol Reasonable Suspicion Training. Not ALL employees (usually direct Supervisors or Managers) are required to have this training; however, most companies with a workforce that has an attrition rate higher than 25% annually choose to train additional management and supervisory personnel to ensure they can properly identify alcohol and substance abuse issues in the interim.
