Back injuries rank high among the prevalent workplace hazards faced by retail workers. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) estimates that back injuries constitute nearly twenty percent of all workplace injuries, with an associated annual cost to the nation ranging from twenty to fifty billion dollars.
Upon completion of this course, students will showcase an understanding of the primary causes of workplace back injuries and effective preventive measures. Employees will gain insights into hazards and the three key types of hazard controls. The course also imparts ergonomic information to assist employers in adhering to OSHA's General Duty Clause.
