Tami was EXCELLENT. Engaging, conscious of our time, and knowledgeable about the subject matter. I hope she gets universal kudos from our class, everyone genuinely seemed to enjoy.
Tamia really knew her stuff and presented it in a concise and easy to understand fashion. The practical exercise she facilitated was very useful

Her academic foundation includes a Master’s in Environmental Health with a focus on Industrial Hygiene and Safety from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Mississippi Valley State University. Tami has served in both public and private sectors, bringing her expertise to construction, manufacturing, hospitality, and healthcare environments. Her mission is not only to elevate safety standards but to foster genuine employee engagement and sustainable cultural change in the workplace.
One of her proudest professional achievements was helping a company achieve OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) status and guiding another through post-audit mitigation to reduce incidents and achieve full OSHA compliance. Tami is also a certified TESOL Workplace Instructor and has developed and taught OSHA and FDA SafeServ programs with customized curricula tailored to diverse workforces.
Her personal commitment to workplace equity runs deep—driven in part by a tragedy early in her career where a fatality occurred due to a language barrier. Since then, Tami has made it her mission to improve access to safety training for all workers, especially for those in underrepresented communities. She is a passionate advocate for increasing the number of women and people of color in the Environmental Health and Safety field and believes that safety should be communicated with both clarity and cultural competency.
