MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS

Brian was a treat. He made the class exciting. I normally don't last long in a classroom setting but I rather enjoyed this class.

Brian Long was a great instructor. His voice was clear and loud which was perfect. And his knowledge of expertise was great.

Brian Long was an excellent trainer and was engaging. He challenged us and presented real life scenarios to the material. I am recommending the course to my Dollar Tree & Family Dollar EH&S team. - Gabriel Sanchez

Brian Long brings over 25 years of experience in safety, emergency response, and regulatory compliance. With a strong foundation in fieldwork and a passion for instruction, Brian has his practical approach and engaging personality have made him a standout instructor.

Brian’s safety career began during his 17 years on the Hazardous Materials Crew for the City of Los Angeles Department of Water & Power. It was there that his talent for training was first noticed—thanks to his volunteer work with the National Ski Patrol, where he led instruction in first aid, rope rescue, mountain safety, and avalanche control. He also managed the Senior Patroller Program for the Southern California region, developing training programs that were both rigorous and relatable.

Today, Brian specializes in respiratory protection, bringing clarity and depth to one of the most critical aspects of workplace safety. His field experience gives him a grounded perspective, and his teaching style is all about creating real-world connections that help students retain what they learn. “If you do it the right way at work—the safe way—then you get to do the fun stuff outside of work with your family and friends,” he says.

One of Brian’s proudest moments is knowing that his guidance has helped protect his crew—passing on his knowledge to ensure that everyone gets home safely. He views training not just as a job, but a duty: “Nobody should get hurt doing their job. It’s my responsibility to make sure they have the skills to stay safe.”
