Don’t be fooled by companies that tell you the hands-on portion of the 40-hour HAZWOPER course is not required or that it can be completed after the course. Some companies may attempt to use an online tool called a “dress-out simulator”. These are not acceptable as per OSHA’s interpretation. The dress-out portion of the class must be completed along with the course's online portion, prior to certification.
