Course Description
Compliance Solutions has joined forces with CPR Professionals to deliver AHA’s HeartSaver® CPR & AED and First Aid certification in Instructor-led, open-enrollment training classes!
The Heartsaver® CPR AED course teaches participants how to perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe and effective manner, incorporating the latest science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
The First Aid course focuses on adult first aid, covering various injuries such as slips, trips & falls, sprains, strains, contusions, broken bones, bleeding control, tourniquet use, shock, head injuries, seizures, diabetic reactions, heat/sunstroke, dehydration, altitude sickness, and anaphylaxis shock.
Successful completion of the course results in a 2-year certification. A printed American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED card is available for an additional fee.
Course Objectives
- Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival.
- Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
- Recognize when someone needs CPR.
- Perform high-quality CPR for an adult.
- Describe how to perform CPR with help from others.
- How to give effective breaths using a pocket mask
- Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult.
- Describe when and how to help a choking adult.
First Aid – applicable for adult first aid, this course covers slips, trips & falls, sprains, strains, contusions, broken bones, bleeding control, tourniquet use & the High & Tight principle of application, shock, head injuries, seizures, diabetic reactions, heat/sunstroke, dehydration, altitude sickness & anaphylaxis shock.
Who Should Take This Course?
Heartsaver® CPR AED is geared towards those with limited or no medical training, who need a course completion card for CPR and AED (i.e. to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements). Upon successfully completing the course, students receive certification, valid for two years.
